Thanks for the tips, I am visiting the Yorkshire Family History Fair at the end of June, I will look for a Family Tree Program, then upload my tree to disc. Thanks again Regards Tox |

But Id recommend you buy a good program that you put on your own computer. GR's is not very flexible or comprehensive. |

Yes - making a GEDCOM file of your tree does not delete or change your original so it remains on GR. Clive |

Thanks again Clive, I did have a tree program Legacy 5.0 but could not get it to print so I abandoned that, my tree is on GR at the moment and would like to do a back up copy, if I Import/ Export my tree by GED COM will my tree still remain on GR, sorry not too clever on the old computer (but learning). I do no tknow where your tree is at present. If on GR use button on left for Import/Export Tree. This will send a GEDCOM copy of your tree to your computer (to the directory you choose.) If you have a tree programme on your computer then go to File Export and a GEDCOM file wil lbe sent to a folder of your choice. (Note I recommend a GEDCOm file in both cases but from your own computer tree programme there are other forms). Now put blank CD in your drive and use your burn (make) CD programme. IF you do not have such a thing then use a memory stick and copy the GEDCOM file to that. Clive |
