I did a similar thing - I thought that I had found my GG Grandfather so ordered his birth cert and the marriage cert of his parents. They turned out to be the wrong ones. A few months later I realised that the marriage cert was for my GGG Grandathers brother and the birth cert was my GG Grandathers cousin so they are relatives of mine after all! Sam x |

Some time ago I sent away for a death cert for a 'rellie' who died in 1864. I was looking for a one year old boy, the cert recd. was for a 59 year old man. Oh dash, I thought, its the wrong one. I mentioned this as a passing thought on this site and someone said...'Don`t get rid of it because as you continue your research it may fall into place' Well, BINGO, it just has. This is the death cert for the grandfather of the one year old. Kathlyn |
