Thank you so much Jim, I think you've hit the nail on the head! The eldest child was born 10 years earlier, so I just presumed they got married earlier..... The names Sibley & Moore may also answer some other queries regarding their own parents. I always get some great answers on here, very quickly - thank you!

Are you sure you have the right year - when was the eldest child born?- You could do a search on freebmd for the grooms name and check out the brides?

The site is pretty accurate, but a lot of the bmd indexes haven't been transcribed yet, so there a quite a few years and quarters that are not complete. I think for 1865 is complete on freebmd which is how it appears on the graph. Also it might be that the person you found wasn't your Frances Leader. Only way to really find out is do a search on ancestry using bmd indexes. Its all free but you have to register first, I would look for you but I am having problems getting into ansestry at the mo. Usually very - but have a look on ancestry complete bmd index - its free - actually the whole of ancestry uk and usa is free for 3 days on trial - go through the american site for the trial. When you say his name is not on there - is there more brides than grooms? In which case it could be they havent got round to transcribing it completely - freebmd is transcribed by volunteers (bless them!)

Just wondering how accurate these records are? I found the marriage of a relative Frances Charlotte Leader in Dec 1865 - Pancras Vol. 1, p. 127. I know she married Edward Robinson, but his name is not appearing on that page! I then searched his name but could find no matching marriage! They lived around Hampstead at that time. I know the best thing would be to order the certificate, but I just wondered how accurate that website was. Thanks.
