If you go to www(.)bt(.)com you can search for home telephone numbers there. As for the electoral role, unfortunately you have to buy credits, you can search the electoral role online. Nicola |

Think I would write a letter, myself. 'I am trying to get in touch with my Aunt and Uncle, Fred and Daisy Bloggs, who used to live at this address. I enclose a stamped addressed envelope and would be grateful if you would return it with a short message, if you are not Fred and Daisy, with any idea you might have about when they left this address and where they may have gone. Thankyou Hazel XXXX nee Bloggs (or whatever name they will recognise you as) I wouldn't at that point, put a phone number, etc, as it may not be them living there. If it is them, they will write back to you saying so! OC |

I think it would be well worth writing. I wasn't writing to a relation but some years ago I found old photos of my family home when I was 16. My parents built an extension and the photos showed it before, during and after. I sent copies of the pictures addresses to 'The Occupiers' of the house with a letter explaining. They were delighted and sent me back pictures of how the house looked now. They had done more alterations. It was house history rather than family history but very interesting. Sue |
