a relative in 1861, gives occupation as 'goes out to work' friend says shes read that this means prostitute! Does it?? |

Ancestry has come back on again. Since she is a widow who 'goes out to work', I wonder if she was at work and one of the children gave the information to the enumerator and just didn't know what work she did? Kath. x |

Jenny!! lol I didnt mean all dressmakers were 'ladies of the night.or even afternnoon lol' there were lots of geniune dressmakers most mums did sewing any way and found that a money earner if they were good at it. Unlike the other money earning profession.!! Sorry if I gave you a jolt !! Shirley |
