Hi Can anyone help, not sure where to start? My dad Thomas Henry Morris born 1918 Holbeck, Leeds, Yorkshire married in 1938, left his first wife in 1948, he met my mum in 1964 and died in 1968. I am trying to fill in the missing years and just don't know how. I know in 1965 he worked for Ruddock Meighan but can't find anything out about that company he also worked part time as a doorman at the Richmond Cafe in London. When he left his first wife we are not sure where he was if he remarried if he had any other children, is there a way to find out this kind of information? Any advice would be appreciated... Julie

Hi Kate Thanks for your fast reply. I did start to look through the BMD but there are so many Thomas Henry Morris' listed that it was a mine field. How do I know which one is mine? Julie

If you haven't already, you could try going through the full BMD Marriage index on Ancestry - it's free, you just need to register - although given your dad's name, it sounds like there might be a lot of them. If he married in England or Wales, he should be there somewhere, I imagine.

Hi Joyce Sorry for delay in replying I've been shopping. I have my father's birth certificate and it can be found as follows 1st Qtr 1918 - 27/02/1918 - mother's maiden name Brown Holbeck - Vol 9b Page 691 Just to confuse things Thomas Henry Morris was born 1913 and died in infancy and his father was also called Thomas Henry Morris. I have checked marriages for Thomas Henry Morris from 1950 (give him time for a divorce) and 1962, he wasn't married when my mum met him so he would of already of been divorced. I found 30 Thomas Henry Morris marriages thats a lot of marriage certificates and money. Julie
