Just googled leicester+prison+records and found that A2A has a list of available records through the Leicester Records Office http://www(.)nationalarchives(.)gov(.)uk/accessions/1995/95returns/95ac56.htm Remove brackets. Hope this helps Amy |

Court records and or local newspapers. A lot of petty crime resulting inprison sentences did not make the papers. Clive |

Where was it Anna? I found a rele recently who had been in prison during the 1800s. The local register office has a prison record which I am going to appy for for only £2. It apparently includes a description of the inmate down to markings etc and of course what they are in for. Hope this helps. |
