I wonder where the St Thomas ref comes from. There was a poor law union of St Thomas - outskirts of Exeter. This does not fit very well with Edmonton Hornsey. Whoops - registration districts were based on poor law union districts. Clive

HI Clive, and Custard Pot the dilemma that ive got is that on the census 1891/ 1901 it says that walter was born in 1886 . well the only walter that is on the births was born in ST Thomas , when all of the other children were born in Hornsey Highgate Edmonton This blooming g/ grand mother of mine is giving me a headache i wouldnt think she would go to Devon to have her baby .she was still in Hornsey in 1901 when i get to see her i'm going to have a right go at her lol Hazel

Reg, Thank you for that Hazel

Hazel We may have been a little too quick. The census ought to say in which county the birth took place. Does it say Devon for any all of the births? It has occured to me your questionable one may have been born in a hospital named St Thomas rather than the Devon district. Clive
