Trying to find Laythorpe Simpson in 1901

Hi, thanks for all the help! I'll try the Scottish census, I think I have access to it, I guess it's possible they moved, although this part of my tree seem to stay in the same part of Sunderland (Bishop Wearmouth) for generations! If Laythorpe died between 1891 and 1901 I guess I should be able to find his death somewhere, should I maybe try the BMD index but go through the images rather than using the search if it's not coming up? Maybe I should order Laythorpe II's birth and death certificate, that might make things clearer... I'll keep you posted! Thanks again.

I don't know if this is relevant or not but in 1901 there is a Mary Simpson, widow with 2 children Class: RG13; Piece: 4727; Folio: 33; Page: 3 : Though it says Mary E Simpson if you look at the image it could be Mary I Simpson.

Hi, I have found this death entry. Could it be his son? Name: Laythorpe Simpson Birth: abt 1906 Death: Dec 1906 - Sunderland, Durham, Tyne and Wear I can't find anything for his father though.

I guess its possible that Laythorpe died, and one of his siblings named a child after him, hence the reg. in 1906?

I haven't had any luck finding either of them on the 1901 England and Wales census on Ancestry. Could they have moved to Scotland in 1901? Do you have access to Scotland's People?

Hi trying to find Laythorpe Simpson b June 1873 to John Edwin Simpson and Jane Bell in Sunderland. Found him in 1881 and 1891 census and also that he married Mary Isabella Thompson in Jan-Mar 1893 but can't find any record of either of them in 1901. I'm pretty sure they must still have been alive as there's a record of a Laythorpe Simpson born Oct-Dec 1906. Surely this is their son? Where else can I search the 1901 census?
