Hi all Hopefully someone can help, I have uploaded my tree here from gene's and have saved it on my documents, but cant open it to save eles where. I do not understand much about PCs and what files are used to open what. Can someone please help

I think the file will be a .ged file? Any Family Tree program should be able to open it. If you want a free one you could try the LDS Familysearch site. Or many of the family history magazines have free sample programs in their CDs. Some programs will open a .ged file directly (eg Family Historian) others will require you to 'import' the .ged file into it. Anne

Thanks Anne I will have a look and give it a try, with all the things that are going wrong with Gene's i wpuld feel safer knowing that i had my tree somewhere eles. Thanks again Tara

Try importing your .GED to another Family Tree website as a backup. I'll nudge the Tribal Pages thread for you. Many of us have trees there too.

I exported my GED file from this site and imported into the tribal site and some of the dates have been messed up. Is this usual or have I been corrupted in the move?
