Thanks Reg, i'll chase that marriage up. Would you be able to find them on the early census's? The Povey's seem to be a very widespread family, but i can't seem to find anything out about them..... i'm going to ask my children for a subscription to Ancestry for a birthday pressie lol. The family that Jim found in 1871 seems a good bet. Mary was born Wem and James was born Tilley, which is right next to Wem. It looks as if Mary had either been married before or had a child before marriage, as the 15 year old Fred Huet is described as son. Kath. x
