Why is it that some people are impossible to find, have been trying to trace my father for nearly 20 years and nothing, he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, and whats more so does everyone that knew him, or at least thats how it feels. Am i flogging a dead horse ?????????????????????? I know this is posted on general board as well, but people read different things. |

If you have any documentation for him e.g. birth cert or marriage cert or something similar, or if you know his date of birth, you could try Traceline through the GRO. We were having no luck finding information on my Grandfather and we finally paid to have Traceline run a search. Took about 6 weeks and they came back with a death index info. We ordered the cert and finally had a piece of the puzzle. It's not always gonna give you the full picture and they don't guarantee a result but they have access to things that we don't like national insurance records etc. It can be frustrating, for a long time we dubbed my grandfather an alien, he came, he sowed his oats and then went back where he came from lol. Nope! I cant find him either!!!! Have checked everywhere i can think of for a ...Dead Horse Flogging......DEF an Alien!....Maybe he married my Matilda? ...now theres a thought!....Matilda Flogging. Have tried every other surname so why not Flogging!!! .....off to Ancestry....LOL I hope you put his details on here as I do love trying to help solve a mystery... Gerri ;-) |
