Clive I don't know enough about Ancestry to answer your question, sorry! But I do know that GR is one of the few genealogy sites which DOESN'T have permanent information on it. Why this should be, I do not know - lack of interest on the part of the owners, perhaps??? Family Tree Forum, which is a very small site compared to this one, has a WIKI style reference section, which is incredible in its range of information. This has all been done in a few short months by volunteers on the site. OC

OC Do you happen to know whether Ancestry have been asked for something on the same lines? People might read it if it was a link from top level. For want of knowledge it was ages before I first used the Tips board. Clive

Clive Do what other people have done on here, start a thread headed INFORMATION and put these bits and pieces on it. Some kind soul usually bumps up all the Information threads last thing at night, so that they can be found relatively easily. All this would be solved of course, if GR would instigate sticky threads, or even a board for information only, with closed threads on it...but don't hold yer breath! OC

I have just read the date on which registration of still births became a requirement. The question of dates for adoptions and so on is also often questioned on this board. As some know I have a site with some odd bits of knowledge (like missing census pieces and links for children sent overseas). Would it be sensible to add these odd dates too? www.sweffling.org then genealogy help Clive
