hi i am trying to trace a lilian ellis c1901 but havent got much info i know i need to send off for her birth cert but cant find her birth i have her marriage cert and will put info below in a mo , i have tried looking to see who the witnesses were and going from there I am trying to find out who her parents were but no luck any ideas anyone thanks linda x

Found Astley, Lancs in the 1901 census and went through all 3 districts but no 17 Higher Green plenty of Higher and Lower Green but not so low as number 17 Higher found. Good luck Irene

irene thank you so much for that it definatley says 17 . anyone got anyother ideas how i can find out any more info on lilian ellis fathers name john ?? i would love to send off for her birth cert then i can get to grips with that branch of the tree. thank for any help or ideas love linda x

You could search Lilian's home address for later years hoping that her parents lived there. Maybe the combination of names will lead you to be able to find the marriage for John ELLIS. If you are lucky, this might be before the 1901 census and you will be able to decide which is your family. You will still need to find Lilian's birth registration, but at least you will have some checking points. Gwyn
