I have managed to locate the death of a relation by going to her fathers graveside and finding that she is buried with him, so I know when she died, only problem is I cannot find the BMD index on ancestry or freebmd so that I can purchase her death cert. Her name was Louisa C. Smith and she died on 25/05/1975, does anybody have any Ideas what I could do now Thanks Tracie.

Thank for all your replies, I am sorry I didn't get back to you all sooner, have not been on pc much tonight. She was 61 when she died and both her father and husband had their deaths registered in Thurrock. thanks Tracie
