My great grandfather's will apparently went through probate in London in April of 1912. How would I find out where to apply for a copy of it. Thanks!!

I have found this little piece of information about the will. '1912 11 March Death of William Lemming of Holly Bank, Chesham Road, Amersham Probate London 16 April to Emily Lemming widow William Lemming pork butcher and Alfred Ellis solicitor Effects £8,414' I would love to have a copy.

Hi Kerry You can apply for a copy of the Will from: York Probate Sub-Registry Castle Chambers Clifford Street York YO1 7RG Give them as many details as you have such as date of death, last known address etc, and I think it still costs £5 per copy. Carolyn

Thanks so much for the information I will certainly be ordering a copy. I think he is the first ancestor I have come accross who had anything of value for his family to inherit. Kerry
