A new one to me, it is free to users of Birmingham library users. However it is on line free if you have a 'username & password', any observations? Any clues on how to obtain these words? PS google the title and second item down, Derek in France

Most UK libraries offer free access to this service. Each Library Service will have its own user name and each library within that County it's own log in. As you live in France I suppose that if you joined a UK library they MIGHT give you a user name etc but I suspect that it would be contravening their conditions of use. You'd have to ask! The Ancestry Library Edition does not hold all the information that regular the one does and is not quite as easy to navigate around - I think the idea is to get people interested in the library and then go and sign up for the full service at home when they've got the bug! Sue PS I've just checked the public pages for the Library that I work for and ther's no access to Ancestry from there - you have to go into a Library, so if you do fancy trying to join a Library for this purpose make sure that they do offer access!
