Does anyone know how death records are registered for a nun who died in a closed order nunnery? I am looking for Olive May Olde born 1900 and entered a nunnery some time after 1916. I am told she died young - not sure how old that means! Have looked through Death registers but no trace. Can any one help? Alison

Is it possible she changed her name on entering the Nunnery and the name she died under is different,or have you tried different spellings of Olde? Aulde etc Kim

Thanks Kim, wish I'd asked more questions of my grandmother while she was still alive as she was Olive's sister. Name change quite possible but no way of checking that. I presume nun's deaths are registered in the GRO records. Alison

Hi Alison , do you know the name she took when she entered the convent ? Some deaths are registered as Sister ....., some have two entrys , .. Good luck , Kim
