Can anyone please tell me if I have the above info all found on the IGI, if I take it to the Family History Society will they be able to tell me who the brides parents are ??? marriage was in 1840 in Aberdeen. Thanks Sandie |

Family History Societies are just groups of people who band together with the common ground of Family History Research They don't hold records. If you have found IGI /parish records from Family Search Site.then this is the Mormon Church . Your local branch can order in the relevant parish record on microfiche for you to look at. You need to look up the local church to you on their website and then contact them. Shirley |

Sandie have you tried looking up the marriage on the Old Parish Records on Scotlands people, I dont know about 1840's but marriages in 1810 dont contain the parents details. If the person whose parent's you are trying to find died in Scotland after 1855 then his/her parents names will be on the death certificate. Georgina. |
