Have you been lucky to get an address on bmd certificates, I seem very unlucky because most that i have do not have an address and so are not very helpful Margaret |

Yes, I have had addresses on certificates which has helped tremendously. The older ones I have tend to just have the village name; but some have the address. Had an address on one which was actually the local hospital. Joan |

I too have full addresses on lots of certificates.......... but the older ones do tend to just have the name of the village. I was very lucky to have one for my Brady family that actually had an address in Rathmines Co. Dublin in 1879! Death certificates sometimes only give the name of the Hospital but give the home address too if the surviving spouse was the informant. If the informant was another relative then their address is recorded too...which is useful in tracking where they were living at a given time....just wish I could find a living descendant of THAT informant though! Richard Davis of Bristol..where the hell are you? |

Mostly my certificates and census entries don't have a proper address, just the village name. Anne |

Havent got any really old ones ordered yet, but a couple of the ones ive ordered from round 1900 have either the address the child was born at and/or the address of the person registering the birth - which I would think, but not 100% sure of would have to be a parent? |

when the certificates read in the parish of and others that have no address it really does not help if the surname is common to that area also I think some areas were better than others at putting address's on Margaret |

i have had a mixture some with address and some without. i have just had one form 1923 and i put a post on a local forum and a gentleman said he lived only 200 yards away and he went to the house and asked if they knew who had lived there.the people who lived there now told him it seems the previous tennants was the family i was looking for and had lived there since it had been built. they also knew one of the relatives and would get in touch with him for me. now thats what i call a result. linda x |

Margaret,I have been lucky and many of my certificates have the full address on even including house no. I have 2 BC that have time of birth on them as well, one from 1839 and the other from 1850, so my'old' certificates have loads of info. I guess I just got lucky. Nicky |
