Would it depend on which area your from ? I phoned the hertfordshire archives and they were very helpful.They said i needed to write to the coroners office and ask for permission to view them.Which i did last week,haven't heard from them as of yet.When or if they give permission they will contact myself and the hertfordshire archives will allow me to view them. Fingers crossed as this is the only way we will get any information on my grandfather as he died while youngish and my grandmother has died also.She herself was very young.All the children were put into care/adopted or family as there was 9 of them. |

Hi there I had a similar thing and was told that the details of inquests are only kept for 10 years and are then destroyed .... Also, the main records office was bombed during the war, so everything before that went up in smoke too. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you can tell me different, I'll resume my own search! Ellie |

I contacted the coronors office via e mail they told me that an inquest was held and are looking into it for me tryinf to locate the files at present, they were very helpfull |

her death cert would show of there had been an inquest I believe, but I take it you don't know when she died |

Is there anywhere i can go to find whether my g.mother had an inquest as she died young so may have had an inquest or post mortum she died between 1940-1944 in kent or kenton would they need a date ,as i thought i would try this way round in order to find her death she was born in scotland in 1899 just a a thought Carol |
