trying to add children

Hi, im trying to add some children for a couple but because i dont have the birth years and im putting 4 zeros and i have the parents birth years it wont allow me to add the names...keeps saying the children must be younger than their parents, how can i get around this...im sure i've dont it in the past. |

You can't put 0000 - you have to have a guess at their year of birth and then tick the box to say that you are unsure of the exact year. Sam x |

Thanks Sam, the problem is i have absolutely no idea as to when they were born, i was given the list of childrens names, out of the 8 i only have 2 birth years, and they are 1906 & 1912....i would'nt even know where to start with GUESSING their birth years. |

As a temporary measure you could put c1910 but it might help to search the complete birth index on Ancestry. There are members on here who enjoy helping if they know the details. |

You can be fairly certain that the children are at least 16 years younger than their parents, so use that year as a temporary date. Personally, I wouldnt bother entering anyone into the GR tree until I had proof of their existence as it is such a fag to correct anything on there. OC |

Thanks everyone, i've just trawled through the births on Ancestry and got 6 out of the 8 so just guessed the other 2 |
