You have found the family Glitter Baby. I should have mentioned about the spelling of the surname being Whitehouse where it should have read Whitehead. William was not born in Woolwich either so another error with the data. In regards to 1st wife Matilda he 1841 census says William Plant Father was a Master Mariner born out of the county. British Subject. This is Matilda Williams 1st wife Birth Ref....I also have her parents Marriage Details. Hope this helps with the Marriage Lookups. Thankyou -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MATILDA LOUISA PLANT Pedigree Female -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: 13 AUG 1833 Christening: 11 SEP 1833 Saint Paul, Deptford, London, England Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parents: Father: WILLM. FRANCIS PLANT Family Mother: MATILDA |

Thankyou for your help Gentleman. William can be found on the Census for 1871 for Mulgrove Place Woolwich and with him is Amelia 2nd wife. Thats also him in the 1851 Census un married for Liverpool. William Whithead died in the 1870,s about 56 years of age in Greenwich. Its the marriages I am after fellows. Matilda Plant first wife was born in Deptford. There first three children were born in Ireland but returned to Woolwich after that because William was Royal Artillery. On the 1871 Census for Mulgrove Place Woolwich William is shown as a Retired Pensioner with his second wife Amelia and other children born in Woolwich. Matilda first wife died in 1866 Woolwich in her 30s. Hope this has helped. Thankyou |

Thankyou for reading my posting. I have tried all ways to find two marriages for my GG Grandfather but nothing to show for the searching. I have looked on freebmd and Ancestry but Nil found. I could have over looked it on Ancestry but I,m not sure. Not knowing where else to look can anyone offer any suggestions or a little help here please. My G G Grandfathers name was William Whitehead born about 1819 Falkirk Sterlingshire. His first wife was Matilda Plant who from what I know was somewhat younger in years. Matilda died in Woolwich Kent in Sep Quart 1866. As my GG GRandfather spent most of his life in Woolwich and Greenwich I would think the marriages would be focused around that area.(Saint Mary Magdalene) His second wife was Amelia ? Can anyone help please. Thankyou |
