One of my Aunts married a Serjeant in the Polish Air Force in 1944, and I have obtained his service number from the marriage certificate. Does anyone have any experience of tracing members of the Polish military, and of Polish genealogy in general. I have the father's name, of course, but I would like to find out when he was born, confirm the identity of both his parents, and perhaps the date and location of their own marriage. Guidance, anyone?

Have you tried looking on national archives ? http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/search/quick_search.aspx My step son's Great Granddad was in the Polish Air Force and married an English girl in 1942, his naturalisation papers were on there. We had to apply for permission to access them from the home office, as they were subject to the 100 year closure rule, we sent a scan of his death certificate by email and were able to access the records digitally. It was about £17 for 10 pages, but had his date of birth and both parents full names and addresses in Poland, also information about him escaping from Poland as a stowaway on a Swedish ship, ...worth £17 in my book! Hi Romany Star, http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/search/quick_search.aspx this link will search all the databases at once. I didn't contact them direct, the application I put in to access the documents triggered a reply from the National Archives and they sent me a form to fill in and send off. These were electronic forms, and I emailed them. Helen

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think he ever became a naturalised citizen, taking his new wife and baby (it was a shot-gun wedding) back to Poland almost immediately after the wedding. My Aunt came back, some years later, without husband, and they were later divorced. Any ideas on Polish genealogy, anyone: that's definitely where the parents might be found.
