Titus Astonished to hear you say TP Technical support is dreadful - I have the highest praise for them! They have answered my (few) queries the same day and in a way which addresses the problem and makes me think they have actually read my email! OC

Hi I've just been able to see a tree by being registered free as a guest on the GENOPRO site. I guess the person with the tree must have a paid membership?? Liz

If you have Family Tree Maker, you can export it to a pdf file and then send as an attachment in an email, thats what I do when I keep sending my relative an updated version. Hope that helps. Marilyn

One of the features of Personal Ancestral File (which you can download for nothing) is that it can create a simple website based on your tree that you can put on a CD and send to anyone you like. The site pages are viewed in a web browser (but from a local source, rather than the internet), and has the advantage that you don't have to install any software to view it. An alternative to CD, these days, is a low capacity USB pen drive. My local supermarket (!) now sells them for around £5. Tribal Pages is a practical alternative. You can have a free site, and give anyone you like a visitor password to view whatever you choose to import, just using an ordinary web browser. (The result is more user friendly too that a PAF generated website). TP has several shortcomings (not least the truly dreadful technical support, which makes GR look professional - ha ha), but you get what you pay for. Strictly, in the case of TP that's not true, because if you upgrade your site to a pay-site (for additional features), you STILL have to put up with the shortcomings and the truly dreadful technical support. That's life!

You could both get the free PAF 5 from the Latter Day Saints. It is pretty good. Then download from GR (if that is the only place you have a tree) and email the GED file. Both load GED files into your (new) tree programme. Clive
