If they passed away at different times but are in the same grave its unlikely it was a paupers grave. Paupers graves got used for up to the limit for each grave then a new one would be opened .the likelihood of the same grave being used at different times for the same family is very remote. My grt gran buried in 1907 in a paupers grave is with seven other unrelated souls. Shirley |

Just because there is no headstone does not mean it was paupers grave, headstones are and always have been expensive, many families could not afford them, some just preferred not to have them. Whoever owns the burial ground, whether church or local authority, they should have a record of the position of the plot. Jennifer |

hello I have now discovered where my 3x greatgrandmother and her eldest daughter are buried, but there is no memorial inscription found for them, could that mean they are in a paupers grave? before i visit the church i would like to know if i can still locate them. Thanks Sharmala. |
