Julie - Daniel was a Quaker (originally) and the whole family seem to spend a lot of time with each other. My Eliza died at her sister's and brother-in-law's house in Wandsworth in 1900 - it took a long search to find her death! I always wonder where I shall find them next!

By the way, I am descended from DANIEL JEFFCOAT and his wife ANNE (nee Parrott). Alfred senior and Joseph senior were his sons. Their sister ELIZA was my great-great-grandmother.

Hi - Just got back from cooking. Julie and Just Looking - many thanks for your efforts. Much appreciated. Joseph is Alfred's cousin. The Jeffcoats were a tight-knit bunch. Joseph's parents were Joseph and Emily Jeffcoat. Joseph was the younger brother of Alfred's father, also Alfred. In every census, there are cousins/aunts etc staying with other families. It's very confusing sometimes because Joseph junior had a sister Emelia Harriet born 1861, and Alfred had a sister Amelia Ann born 1863. Emilia was born in Brompton and Amelia in Kensington. So they become easily confused, especially as Emilia's name is frequently mistranscribed or misspelt as Amelia.
