I am looking for relatives/ancestors of Richard Hughes born 1844 on some Census he says he was born in Bagillt & in others he says he was born in Tremeirchion. He married Anne Wakefield & after her death he married Jane Roberts. Richard & Anne had the following Children Emily b.1864 Annie b.1869 Hugh b.1872 Charlotte b.1877. Richards Parents were John & Mary Huhges, Mary's maiden name is unknown. Richards siblings were Edwin b.1837 Thomas b.1840 Mary b.1847 Esther b.1851 Hannah b.1854 Do you recognise anyone in your family tree. I'm desperate to find a lead to take me back to John & Mary & their Parents, occupations etc... Thanks for taking the time to read my message. Christine Davies

Christine, The North Wales BMD website is useful for this area; It doesn't seem to be working tonight but you could try it another day. Obviously you will have the same problems as anyone searching for Welsh ancestors - there are so many with the same names! I have found an Esther Hughes birth (right area) which looks promising as Esther is listed as 4mths on the 1851 census: Births Dec 1850 Hughes Esther Holywell 27 216 This would lead you to Mary's maiden name.
