Well at least someones happy ! (or was) I have a big problem with a branch of my tree from Huddersfield, the Dysons, it seem that it was compulsory to be called Dyson in Huddersfield in the 18th /19th centuries, at least thats how it feels sometimes, at times i wish they had been called Smith because even that would make my life a lot easier !!

Oh Clive. I just have to butt in here and say how much fun it is following your trials and tribulations in Sweffling on these threads, I often have a giggle. Unfortunately I can't be of any help from here in Australia, but I can send good problem-solving vibes your way! Good Luck!! Hz in Oz

Actually Hepsey was baptised in 1808 and Happy in 1846 - and Happy is what appears in the census too! I forget to say that there are two Jonathan Halls one born in 1802 and the other in 1809 - they both appear in the census and death returns but Jonathan of 1802 was apparently not baptised! Why did I chose Sweffling to do a village tree for? Clive

IGI Batch'sfor Swefling , No Throws and no Thurlows, none at all, but there are baptisms for four Burwoods between 1767 and 1779, unfortunately not one of them is called Rose. Still it seems Burwood is a Swefling name.

In Sweffling, Suffolk we have Robert Hall and Rose as the parents for a baptism of Jonathan Hall on 19/11/1809 We also have Jonathan Hall and Sarah Barber (not always with the Barber bit) as the parents of George Hall baptised 12/1/1806 For 10 marks prove that Jonathan Hall(Sr) and Robert Hall are brothers For a further 10 marks give Rose's surname and for a final 10 marks (and a distinction pass) say where the Hall family originated. Because I can't ! Help please. Clive
