But I'm not happy. The one above was born 1832 in Martham, Norfolk. IGI says there was a Happy Hall baptised 28/1/1846 so why can't I find anything about her please ? C |

Clive I think you're trying to confuse us :-) I take it you're looking for Happy Hall, daughter of Daniel & Harriet, christened Swefling? Happy & Christmas are red herrings? (well they do live on the road leading to the sea in 1861!) Angela |

Angela Of course I am not trying to confuse! How could you think such a thing! I just fell about laughing when I found the combination when I was looking for the real Happy Hall of Sweffling. I was surprised to find there a child called Happy in Sweffling a few years younger and called Barrows. I was further surprised to find lots of children called Happy. BUT where is Happy Hall baptised 28/1/1846? Clive |

Clive Thanks for this query. I, too, have been amazed & amused at the children called Happy. Happy Button, Happy Blowers & Happy Price (that one sounds like a cheapo supermarket!) I'm sure someone was having a laugh re Christmas & Happy being a married couple. Angela |

Thanks Angela Wonder why I did not see that. Did you use Ancestry? Clive |

Clive I used FreeBMD. Just put in the christian name of 'Happy' - no surname, all types 1846-1851. (I'd found the rest of the clan in 1851, happyless). Angela |

I am fairly sure that 'Happy' as a name is a corruption of Kerenhappuch. Pretty sure I would abbreviate the name to Happy, if I too was called Kerenhappuch! OC |

OC That was Job's second daughter wasn't it? Sweffling has some right weird biblical names cropping up in quite unexpected places. I have no idea how to pronounce some of them. I wonder how they managed to spell/say them to the enumerator? C |
