Got g.parents mar. cert. The only Constance Archer in Leeds area I could find was Holbeck (Leeds) Got birth cert. it quotes a different father. Marriage cert says Samuel, birth cert says Walter Bedford Archer, could anyone please please give me a pointer as where to go from here? Also Want to find out if she re-married (divorced I think 1930's) can't find a remar. under Archer or Fox (her marr. name) any pointers on this one too plse. Georgina Hi My g.mother Constance Archer stated 22 yrs on wedding cert to Fred Fox but birth cert states 15th May 1909, Marr. cert says father Samuel Archer Birt. cert says Walter Bedford Archer and mother Annie Lizzie Archer formerly Harvey. I had thought maybe she'd amended her age so as to get married without consent, she was expecting a baby and none of the witnesses on marr. cert are related to her they are my g.fathers brother and a friend. Jackie my gut instinct is that you have the wrong birth certificate for Constance, I dont know the family history but could she have been born before her mother married and have been registered in her mothers maiden name? Georgina.

Presume your gmother is dead. Do you have a copy of the death certificate? That would show the date of birth. Steph

It looks like the Constance Archer whose birth certificate you have for the 15/05/1909 never married, she is still constance Archer on her death reference... Hi Sorry so long in getting back. Constance Archer's father, Samuel was a Boiler Maker, have found him on 1901 as mar. but living alone. 1891 Census shows him m. and living with Annie and 4 children. Constance's age on m. cert. is 22 yrs so born c1905. No idea of death she left husband within few years of mar. 1931 ish. Would like to trace as much as poss. my dad can't find anything on her and would like to know if she remarried. How do you trace a death pls? Thanks for all your replies really, really appreciated. Hi Kath If one of the Constance Fox's is correct it's weird - I have the same d.o.b. but not the year - but it feels like it am pulling my hair out. No one to ask about Constance as she did a runner poss to London but no one knows if she remained there, I would just love to solve the mystery and dig back and forward. Ta for help Jackie xx
