Hi Janice & Kathleen, I have been in touch with LMA who tell me the records were originally kept by London County Council and that they are not available to the public. They will do the research for you at a cost of £35.00 per hour. There are only a few years up until 31st March 1953 and after that they have been destroyed. The person I'm looking for died in Dec. 1954 but I do know he was in the 'Newington Lodge' for the homeless prior to 1954 but after 1950. Lin

I posted a message on the Record Office board a few years ago and someone kindly went to the LMA for me and copied some admission and discharge details for me. I did have an exact date though, so it was quite easy to find. Give it a go - I'm sure someone will help if they can. Kath. x

Hi Lou, If you know the records are at the LMA why don't you post on Record Offices and ask if anyone is going there who could look it up for you. Janice

Does anyone know of a website where I can view on line the admissions etc. The LMA want £35.00 per hour which could run into quite a lot of money. Thank you in advance for any replies.
