i had one of those...it turned out she had married twice, the first husband had died only 18 months after marriage then she-re married. Because it is relativity recent, both names are included so you get 2 references. If you want to order the marriage i suggest you order in the mans name and add one or both of womans names to request.

Shes possibly Postle also known as Hadley the same gro ref is given so all wiil tell on the marraige cert Or she was Illegtimate but her birth cert shows the dad so both surnames will find her and the same follows on to her marriage cert. My grt grandaughter was reg in her mums name with my grandson ,her dad present and she is listed under both surnames with the same GRO ref

I am searching for the marriages of people called Postle. I find one where it says that Nita J Postle marries a Wilson in the 3Q 1948 Middlesex S 5f 296. To find the first name of Mr Wilson I go to his page where it says that he (Sidney E) marries Postle or Hadley. In a confused state I go and look up Hadley and there she is Nita J still showing Middlesex S 5f 296 so is she a Hadley or a Postle. Might Hadley have been an earlier marriage - if so she must have got married before she was 20 as I've gone from 1935. In 3Q of 1954 she marries again still using the surname Postle to a George Mummery Folkestone 5b 998. Her brother doesn't fair much better in the 4Q of 1948 as he marries a Winifred H J Chiddey or Hendley Bridge 5b 116 and there she is under both names. What is going on?? Bo
