Hidden from general view a web page has a list of key words to help search engines find the page. These should be the sort of word you put into the search tool to find you information. Have you any suggestion as to what I ought to have on www.sweffling.org.uk what I have so far is Sweffling, Swefling, Suffolk,ancestry, ancestor, ancestors, genealogy, family history, research, Clive |

Hi Clive You need to use 'key' words that appear the most on your homepage. No good just picking words out if they do not actually appear on the page. Hope this helps Julie |

JP Agreed. Somewhere on here is another thread where I have made the point that for effective results you need to have the words in both the header and first page of text. Clive |

Thanks for your suggestions, some are now in, some will follow at the next update. What I am trying to do now is think of excuses to link this site to others which I run and them back to Sweffling. The more links the better the chance of being high enough in a search result to earn someone's click! Clive |
