Newby to the site. Have emailed the help numerous times and am still stuck. This is what I have done: Clicked on records Entered name surname and year pressed search For 1901 census clicked 'view results' For the entry Im interested clicked 'view' Clicked 'view original census' This is where nothing happens. No white page, nothing. Clicked 'view others living with' which shows a list of other people I cant find anything that offers me to view a test image. On the birth index: clicked 'view results' From the list provided clicked on all of the 'view' buttons. Nothing happens again. My internet browser allows pop-ups. I have adobe reader 8 installed Security is set to the default 'medium' I am on windows xp Using internet explorer 6. Can anyone help me?????? Gilly |

Gill I would suggest contacting Genes and asking them why you haven't access to the info you have paid for! Having said that I would also suggest you investigate whether the purchase of units from this site is the most cost effective way of carrying out research. Personally I wouldn't buy them. Chris |

Hi Gilly, what version of Internet Browser are you using? e.g. Internet Explorer 6? Are there any messages appear in the top of your browser to say seomthing like install active x control? The problem sounds like a browser issue Bruce from Down Under |

Hi Gilly As I haven't purchased credits I can't check this out but when you purchased were you prompted to download any sort of viewer? I know on other sites you have to have a compatible viewer for the images in order to view them and if this isn't enabled it might explain the white pages. I would agree with earlier comments that you need to contact GR again. You said that you have emailed numerous times, have they responded? It would be far easier if you could talk on the phone and ask them to talk you through possible solutions but I can't find a telephone number for them. Maybe a firmly worded email expressing your disatisfaction and asking for a contact telephone number so you can actually speak to a human being. Good luck Kate |

Buying units from GR is not a cost-effective way of doing your research. bmd's for England/Wales are all free on Ancestry, and numerous GR members have subscriptions to Ancestry and are willing to do census lookups.......... And 1881 census is free......on both Ancestry and the LDS site Don't be afraid to ask for lookups............ In the meantime.......keep on at GR until they ensure that you get what you have paid for.......... Reg |

Reg is right Gilly. Maybe your next move should be to ask for a refund seeing as you can't actually access what you've paid for. I find Ancestry the best value, especially if you have a lot of searching to do or as Reg says use their free services and ask for look ups on the record thread. There are lots of people on there who will happily help in your search. Whatever you decide, good luck with your searching. Kate :-) |

It seems to me that your browser was just a bit slow. Try again. Margaret |
