Hi, I know this is a long shot as I don't have much information but I know some people on here are unbelievable at finding things so here goes. I am trying to find information on my Grandmother Edith Webster (Nee Moxon) Mother. Her Mother was believed to have another Child whom died young but I have no idea how to find this out as nothing is really known about this side of the family. They came I believe from the Pontefract West Yorkshire region. I know Edith married my Grandfather Harold Webster and they had 7 children my mother Margaret being one of them. I should imagine they would have been born around the 1920's. This is all the information I have, probably no use but who knows. Thanks Kate x

Is it your grandmother who would have been born around the 1920's? It's just that there is an Edith Moxon on the 1901 census in Pontefract, but she was born c.1887, but she could be a relative. Kath. x

Hi, My Grandparents Edith and Harold should have been born around the 1920's , yes. I believe Edith is still alive but I know my Grandfather died in the early 90's I believe in February or March. Thanks for your reply x

The only way to find anything is to trawl through the full indexes on Ancestry. If you can find the birth of Edith Moxon, you will find out her mother's maiden name. You can then search for other births of Moxoh children with the same MMN in the same area. I assume your grandmother isn't alive otherwise you could ask her. When did she die? Maybe her death record records her date of birth or her age at least. Sam x

Hi Kate There is a marriage GRO ref for an Edith Moxon in Pontefract on Ancestry but unfortunately no matching husband. The ref is : District: Pontefract March Qtr 1909 9c 150. Kate

Hi, Thanks everyone who has helped so far. Just found out that my Grandmother Edith Webster (nee Moxon) Mother was called either Edith Alice or Alice Edith Moxon her maiden name was Prust. The baby is question died either as a stillborn or a newborn we think. The baby's name had either Jean, Margaret or Rose within it. Hope this helps. I'm still looking. You need Edith's marriage cert..........it will tell you her age at the time.............and the name and occupation of her father. Reg

Thanks Reggie, The Edith Alice Prust is my Great Grandmother, thanks. How would I go about finding her Children. I am looking for a girl either with the name Margaret, Jean or Rose featured in it born I believe after 1923 she would I think be in the surname Moxon. She would have died as a baby. These are not the names you were looking for, but there are these two baby deaths in Barnsley:- Alice Moxon, age 1 Dec. qtr. 1924, Barnsley 9c 246 Doris Moxon, age 0 Dec. qtr. 1929, Barnsley 9c 259 Kath. x

You can only do it by trawling through the FULL records on Ancestry..........find the marriage, then look at every qtr's births image for every year until you find what looks like the right entry............ Good luck Reg

Thanks Reg and Kath. I will go and have a look for Edith Alice Prust and Charles Moxon's marriage. I believe the baby should be in Pontefract still but I could be wrong. If anyone finds anything could you let me know. Thank you very much for your help. Kate
