Does anyone have a membership for this site? I just wanted to know what parish Records they had before I subscribe. I.e do they have Sussex and Essex, Suffolk?? Its seems I;d have to subscibe to find out which seems a bit cheeky!! Julie

Julie, They have some marriage registers for Essex and Suffolk. Nothing for Sussex. Sue

Thank you, Sue. You've just saved me £5 as it was Sussex I wanted in particular.

I looked at subscribing to the genealogist yesterday, but they will only let you use it on one PC and I spend half my time researching at home and the other time researching at work. Apparently, you can't do that. And you also can't swap between PCs more than three times either. No good for me then.

There's a thread a bit further down about a free one month trial to the Genealogist website. I joined up today, mainly to search the parish records but was disappointed to find only limited records for London & Middx. I also found it hard to search for particular names in the parish records, seems you can only search by surname. So my 10 free credits disappeared rapidly without finding any info of interest!

I hate the credits way of doing things. A few hundred credits sounds like a lot but when sites charge you 5 or some credit per page view, they soon run out. My best investment was an annual sub for findmypast. It was about £80, but I've used it to death...
