I now have several incidences of relatives marrying their stepbrothers and sisters. I can't see how to show the relationship between their parents on my tree. Has anyone managed to do this and if so can you give me any clues? Thanks Chris (I'm just off on the school run - will be back on tonight).

Chris If you mean a tree on here then sadly the best you can do is mention the connection in the notes section. Genes limited tree capabilities can't cope with this type of connection :( If you don't wish to purchase a Family Tree programme then it might be worth your while taking a look at the Tribal Pages site where you can set up a free tree and it can cope with this type of relationship. www.tribalpages(.)com remove brackets. Briefly.....You enter an individual just the once and then can use a 'drop down' box facility to then add that name to any other person in the tree. They have an excellent tutorial on the site. http://www.tribalpages(.)com/tribes/demo#newbies Again remove the brackets. You don't need to reinput your info from Genes for each individual....You can just upload a Gedcom from here to TP :) Chris

Assuming you have your own computer (ie not a business one where you are unable to load/download programmes) use PAF 5 from the Latter Day Saints. It is free and more than sufficient for most people. Clive

I would say Clive's suggestion is a good one and has an advantage over mine.... With TP, unless you pay for an upgrade, you cannot upload a tree elsewhere....So you couldn't load it back to here. I believe with PAF you can. However with TP you can give access to someone who makes a connection but doesn't have a family tree package on their computer, something that a contact would need if they wanted to read a PAF file you sent. Clive.........Am I right in my thinking??? lol Chris

Thankyou Chris and Clive. (Sorry for the delay in reading your responses). I will have a look at them both. Chris
