I have two birth certs. both for George Henry ............and the same parents, one is 1913 and the other 1922. The 1922 one is still alive and insists the 1913 one is his brother Harry. Harry didn't die until 1936 so this would have meant two brothers with the same name and parents both alive. Am I missing something here? Lin

Probably not Many Henrys were called Harry. Come the next lad 'Henry is a nice name and we've already got a Harry' and there you are with two of the same name. Clive I've had one hell of a job sorting out my family because none of them were know by their true names.

Clive, would they have named both of them on their birth cets. George Henry, the one that is still alive has always been known as George. I could understand it if the first had died but that wasn't the case?

Don't no if this helps but for the last 200 years my mums side of the family made a habit of calling their children William Henry or Henry William, also just Henry or William, my mother told me that her brother born 1910 was called Harry but his name was William Henry, I got the birth cert to prove it Harry was a common nickname for anyone with these names Roy

Oh Well, suppose I'll have to believe that was the case even though dear old Uncle George is still insisting 'No, Never, my brother was Harry, not Henry or George, that's me!!!!'. Nothing is going to alter in the forseable future my son Glenn, husband Peter, Father in Law Stan and Grandfather in Law Pop are all really Peter's. lol Thanks for your input. Lin
