I am trying to find the baptism for Noah Freeman who was born Aug 1842 in Weston on The Green, Bletchington, Bicester, Oxfordshire. Mary kindly checked the Weston on The Green Parish records for me to no avail. It looks like he must have been baptised in another parish ...can anyone help please? He was the son of Lucretia Freeman and John Tuffery. Thank You in anticipation....I am off to work now but will be glad to give any more info later. This man is eluding me and I think he is my great grandfather! |

Hi Whisky ... thanks. I have the birth certificate but my problem is I think Noah changed his name later on. I have a date in my grandfathers book for 'Henry' 16 Sep 1842. Noah's birth is 15 Aug 1842. I thought if his baptsim was 16 Sep 1842 it would tie the two together. Bit confusing I know but I am sure Noah and Henry are the same person. Noah disappears after the 1861 census. Henry appears born in Oxfordshire living in Durham with his wife and children. I am trying to connect the two! |

Hi Is the Henry you have found in 1881 living in Durham the one with a 'visitor' called Dinah Freeman, I did a search for Dinah in an earlier census and she appears to be his sister and these 2 have different parents than Noah |

Yes Whisky ... Dinah is the son of William and Ann and she is on the 1871 census at darlington with them....on the 1881 census she is a visitor with Henry and Mary. I think that her father William and Henry(Noah) could be brothers. This is so confusing ... I just don't know how I can prove that Henry and Noah are one and the same person. Any ideas? |

Hi I am not convinced as I have found both the Henry G and Noah on the 1861 Was John Tuffrey Lucretia's second husband? Mr Freeman being her first. Ann |

Hi Ann Henry G is not my Henry ... he is the son of William and Ann... Dinah's brother. I have found him on the census after my Henry died. My Henry died in Feb 1890. Henry G is alive and married on the 1891 and 1901 census. Lucretia was a single mother with a few kids ! She was John Tuffery's housekeeper before being his wife. She is a spinster on her marriage to him in 1847. Joyce |
