Hi Maureen Thank you for replying. Do you know if Bunty could be short for Isabel or Elizabeth? Diana |

The girl's name Bunty \b(u)-nty, bun-ty\ is of English origin. From a dialectal pet name for a little lamb, from the verb to 'bunt', meaning 'to butt gently'. Nickname and occasional baptismal name. Bunty is definately a 'nick name' for Elizabeth. Don't know why but it is and I know at least 3 Elizabeths always known as Bunty. They are all, by the way, over 60. Jennifer |

Hi All Many thanks for all your answers. I haven't listened to Sarah Kennedy since i stopped work. I must get up early and listen to her as she is a right laugh. This lady was always known as Bunty but I found an envelope that had her name on as Mrs 'I' Thomson ( I think it is either an I or an E but it is difficult to tell) Many thanks everyone for your help Diana. |
