Hi Maureen Thank you for replying. Do you know if Bunty could be short for Isabel or Elizabeth? Diana

The girl's name Bunty \b(u)-nty, bun-ty\ is of English origin. From a dialectal pet name for a little lamb, from the verb to 'bunt', meaning 'to butt gently'. Nickname and occasional baptismal name. Baby names that sound like Bunty are Bente, Benita and Bonita. Other similar baby names are Bunny, Berty, Minty, Bonny, Binny, Benny, Bently, Bunni, Betty, Buna and Lundy. Bunty is definately a 'nick name' for Elizabeth. Don't know why but it is and I know at least 3 Elizabeths always known as Bunty. They are all, by the way, over 60. Jennifer

Hi All Many thanks for all your answers. I haven't listened to Sarah Kennedy since i stopped work. I must get up early and listen to her as she is a right laugh. This lady was always known as Bunty but I found an envelope that had her name on as Mrs 'I' Thomson ( I think it is either an I or an E but it is difficult to tell) Many thanks everyone for your help Diana.
