Hi, Is anybody any good at deciphering old handwriting, I have a marriage cert with a written paragraph at the bottom of it, I am finding really difficult trying to figure out what it is all about. Cheers, Sarah

Well at least, having seen a copy, I now understand why you are having difficulty reading the writing. For what it's worth: I hereby certify that, in ?? of the Statutary Provisions, I have carefully examined and conferred, along with the Registrar, the Register Book and this Duplicate that ?these? of the mentioned ?? they ?? ?? are occupied by ?? and that all the Entries in this Duplicate ?? with these ?? ?/ in the Register Book I further testify that this Duplicate ?? one correction made ?? ?? of the section of the Registration Date, in the ?? mentioned & such correction being numbered and ?? by the Registrar in the Margin of the said entry. So It appears that there was an error which has been corrected and that the original entry in the parish record should have a margin entry which will give all the details (I hope!) Hope that helps a little Pete

Hi Pete Thanks very much for that, it is very similar to what Sharon was able to decipher, I personally only managed the words registrar, registrar's book and duplicate. Much appreciated Sarah
