I have recieved 2 death certificates, accidental deaths. One in Jan.1869, the other in Sep. 1885. Both in Liverpool. As I do not live in England I emailed the Central Library Record Office in Liverpool, stating all the facts on the certificates and asked if it was possible to obtain copies of the relevant newspaper cuttings. Today I had an email answer, with a form I have to fill in. I also got prices. £ 10,- for 30 mins. £ 16,- for one hour. How much should I make the cheque of for. Will this kind of work take one hour, two, or maybe more. Any suggestions? Thank you. Claire |

Claire, There are some very generous people on GR and I'm sure if you ask, someone local to that area will look for you. I personally have been helped and saved a small fortune from a Canadian GR member, who pops into her library for me. OC&G |

Someone else was complaining recently about the sudden hike in prices from Liverpool. If you know the dates, then it is going to take about five minutes to find, and 50p for a photocopy. I would ask on Records, if anyone is going. OC |

Thank you both. I have sent an email to a distant relative in Liverpool and asked him if he can help me. If his answer is negative, I will put a request on records. regards Claire |
