Hi All, Would someone be able to do a quick look up for me, please? I see that Burton Charles Cawley was a Canadian Soldier in 1914-18 war. Could anyone have a look for me to see what it says as I only have British Membership. Many Thanks Jane Cawley |

According to his attestation papers he was born 7 May 1884, Tynemont, Devon. Next-of-kin is Mrs. Hunt, 14 Briton Terrace, Tynemont. He was an iron worker, had previously served 57 Bn. C.E.F. He enlisted Aug.25, 1915. He was 30 years old, 5ft. 7, dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair and had a scar on his left hand. Don't you love these little extras that make them come to life? There's also a second attestation paper for him. All the info is the same except now his occupation is bridgeman and says he previously served 77 Battalion. It's dated 28 June 1915, Quebec City.
