Hi, i wondered if you could possible help, im looking for the following family and wondered if anyone could help me get into the census'. Here are the details: 1. Name to searched: James Wood 2. Year of birth: 1895 (about) 3. County where Born: Aberdeenshire 4. County where Living: as above. Notes: James Wood had a son born in 1921 called James Allan Wood and also a daughter called Marion Wood, whom was born about 1930ish, there may have been others. I have guessed at the fathers date of birth as 1895 based upon his sons actual DOB of 1921. In terms of certificates, i have the sons marriage certificate (which gave me his fathers name)....but i cant get hold of the sons birth certificate as there are so many 'James Woods in Scotland!!). Its Aberdeenshire which should help shorten the list a bit. FYI the son married a lady called Florence Eileen Linton in 1949 in Hull, Yorkshire. He was aged 28. Hope this helps. Mark There are quite a few James Wood in Aberdeen on the 1901 census. Think you need to find his marriage to get fathers name before you stand a chance of finding him on the census. Jacqui

As well as James the son there is also, Marian, Elizabeth, Victoria, Alan,......these are all the children of James. I'll try to find out the mother's name. Thanks for your help so far.

Think you are going to have to contact the General Register Office of Scotland to get the 1921 birth certificate of James Allan Wood. His father might have been born after the 1901 census. Maureen
