trying to find info about harry or henry price born liverpool,killed in action on 22ndjune 1944 near caen in northern france,does anyone remember a uncle harry in their family who never came back from the war? harry or henry was the son of adam and dorothy price from west derby liverpool and had several brothers and sisters.thanks x |

Cemetery: LA DELIVRANDE WAR CEMETERY, DOUVRES Country: France Locality: unspecified Location Information: Douvres-la-Delivrande is a village 14 kilometres north of Caen. Take the main road northwards from Caen, the D7 to Langrune-sur-Mer. After about 12 kilometres, the War Cemetery will be found on the right of the road, a few hundred metres before reaching La Delivrande crossroads and its twin-spired church. Historical Information: The Allied offensive in north-western Europe began with the Normandy landings of 6 June 1944. The burials in La Delivrande War Cemetery mainly date from 6 June and the landings on Sword beach, particularly Oboe and Peter sectors. Others were brought in later from the battlefields between the coast and Caen. There are now 942 Commonwealth servicemen of the Second World War buried or commemorated in this cemetery. 63 of the burials are unidentified but there are special memorials to a number of casualties known to be buried among them. thank you so much shirley, the war details are correct, the adam price you found was henry-harrys father who also had a brother called harry-henry(names differ between harry and henry) harry price was born in liverpool after his parents moved from whiby on the wirrel.in the 1900s,harry had a number of siblins born either in whitby or in liverpool one of them was my dads dad llewelyn price.x |

Suzanne Do you have the cert for Lleweyln Price if so does it confirm Dorothy maiden name of Noble Ive found a LLewelyn Price Dec 1912 West Derby which covers Liverpool but the mmn stated is Dixon !! |

hi shirley, yes ive got grandads birth cert,his mother was dorothy price nee noble,his mother was from newcastle,also harry who was killed in action was llewelyns brother,his parents are down as adam and dorothy price from west derby.xx |
