Thanks everyone for all your help. I think it is because i have Maurice Maggs who married Edith Skuse. Victor Maggs, Maurice's nephew, then went on to marry Daisy Skuse, Edith's neice. All very close so to speak! Thanks again Amy

Carol has already touched on this, I know - but just to add to what she has said, this is most likely to occur where there are marriages of cousins or where two brothers marry two sisters. This of course assumes that the name has not been duplicated or there is a relationship error, or there are genuine multiple relationships. It only manifests itself in an All-in-one tree, as far as I can see because all possible lines resolve to their respective ancestors i.e. it is in effect multiple trees on the same sheet, and there is a limit to what can be drawn onto the page.

If they have the same reference number after their name then they are the same person. i.e. Jane Smith 1 and Jane Smith 1. There are a couple of reasons that this may occur, FTM will replicate married peoples boxes when it cannot show them connected in the normal manner, it will show the man as a son married to the wife and it will also show the woman as a daughter married to the man. If this is not the case then you have a relationship mistake and this can be a bit of a pig to sort out but it can be done using the Fix Relationship option. Carol www.genealogyprinters*com

Hi Amy I have version 16 but have not had that problem. I would suggest as a first step that you try changing the view. Just click on any box and then on family view and then back into all-in-one. Charles

Which version of FTM are you using? Someone with the correct version may be able to help.

Can anyone help me please? I've managed to mess up my all in one tree view in Family Tree Maker. I have lots of individuals who only appear on the list once so they aren't duplicates, but in the All in One Tree view they appear up to 6 times. How do I get them to appear only once? any help would be much appreciated! Thanks Amy
