Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 2 077 Send Message	Her cousin was born in South Africa out of wedlock on 13th January 1943. The father was (surprise surprise) a married man who got her mother pregnant and couldn't leave his family. She believes his name may have been Carruthers and she's certain he was in the British Armed Forces based at East London in the Cape Province. It would be great to have some information to give. Does anybody know how I can find which British military units were based at East London during 1942 and early 1943? That would be a great starting point. I'm posting this on Family Tree Forum too.
