Change the names of the Grandparents to those of the parents then add the new grandparents back in

Export your tree to a family tree programme (you can get a free one) edit it there, then reload it Peter

Julie, it;s not possible to take people out if there are generations above and below them, which there are in my case. Mo, thanks for your suggestions. I was hoping that there would be a quicker way but probably not. It looks like it's going to be a long job. Lynn x

Help! generation missed out on tree. Whilst entering details on my tree I accidentally missed a generation out, so a relatives parents are not shown and it appears that her grandparents are her parents. (Does that make sense?) I can't seem to ammend the details. Can anyone offer advice on how to go about this or will I have to either delete relatives from the top down, or the bottom up, untill I get to the error? That would take ages so I hope that someone can offer a better way.......please. 888888888888888888888888888888888888 Click on grandparents Add childs Mother's or Father's name to the Grandmother/ Grandfather creating her or his proper mother.. if that makes sense Creating a new child for the Grandparents.... Add in husband wife... Add the child that you have added to grandparents and work your way down your info that way to the modern Then delete the granddaughter links to the grandparents working your way up from the bottom that way you can check that all the links are out... and you can also check all your new links are in.. Hope this makes sense Mo

Not on this site you can't. The relative who's parents have been missed out is showing as the child of her grandparents, therefore if I go to her record the 'add father' and 'add mother' boxes are greyed out so I can't add the correct father and mother.
