Kia Ora I am researching from New Zealand trying to find family left behind by Great Grandparents when they emigrated to Aotearoa in 1878. I have tracked all families back to the 1700s & am now trying to find family after 1901 census. 1. It would be VERY helpful if you put the YEAR & QUARTER & LOCATION (from Ancestry or Free BMD) of the Registration of the Event on your family tree before uploading to GR. 2. If listing on 'Trying to FInd' I appreciate you might not have much information but it would be so helpful if members put full names, approximate dates and places where it is known. A 'grandfather' might have been born in the 1950/60s or in the 1880s! 3. I have now found 4 families of my Gt Grandparents who had NO IDEA that one of theirs had emigrated to the other side of the World, so please look at 'Trying to Find' occasionally for your surnames - you might be pleasantly surprised! 5. I have just updated the following surnames messages on 'Trying to Find' and plan to do a heap more over the next week! STEPHENS, BYRNE, WEBB, they include other surnames like WARD, DUDLEY, HARPER, FLETCHER, and all are from Warwickshire. WILLIAMS from Watford Herts. Fingers crossed! Marlene Other surnames & Counties will follow! |
